Hey guys,

It seems that for whatever reason the DC-3's have dropped in price quite a bit on Ebay. I will cite:

Which is one of the lower BIN I have ever seen for a DC-3. But has not been bought up yet.

I also recently acquired a DC-3 for $75 + shipping with Box.

Has the world lost interest? Or did all of us BossArea'ers finally get one.

It could be just a one-off. The other sellers still seem to hover around the $140 mark.
DC-3s without a BIN rarely go for as much as $120 and that's probably why this one hasn't sold yet. He does however stand a lot better chance than the other BIN sllers.

I guess so, I've been looking to get a DC-3 for a while, but rarely saw one sell for less than $150 or $130. I guess my shock was finding one for $75. On the other hand though the DC-2's seem to be in short supply lately and lots going for closer to $200.

DC-3s in general seem to follow behind DC-2s in price, from what I've seen. Must be the "analog is better" thing -- I think that the DC-3 is highly underrated because of that. You'd think that having adjustable settings versus presets would be enough.

It probably would be if you could get the preset sounds out of the DC-2 in the DC-3. But from what I remember you can't quite match them.

You're right; that's a good point that completely escaped me as I was typing that.

Apart from the exact presets, when I compared my DC-2 and DC-3 against one another, the most significant differences I noted were (a) the analog DC-2 was quieter than the digital DC-3, and (b) the wet signal of the DC-3 had a noticable midrange quality, whereas with the DC-2 it was more "transparent".

More evidence to support The Dingus Theory?

It's straight up with no reserve, so the market will speak here...
