Hey All, Is it possible to use another type of footswitch with a DS-2? |

You just need a permanent (latching) footswitch. A Marshall amp footswitch for example would work fine.
A stereo (double) footswitch would work fine either. |

i just discovered that my channel footswitch for my behringer gmx210 can be used for a tap tempo (DD-5). it's probably a momentary type thing anyway since i'm pretty sure the channels on the amp are switched digitally.
on the subject of compatible switches and triggers, has anyone successfully used the TRIG. IN jack on a DSD-2/3? the manual says "This is to receive the signal sent from the Trigger Output of a rhythm machine." i guess that means you need a rhythm machine. |

I tried on my DSD-2.
It's not working with a momentary or permanent footswitch.
I managed ot use it succesfully by connecting a 9v battery to it. When you put 9v between ground and tip of the Trig In jack, it plays the sample.
I don't know if 9v is the correct value. It works, but it's not working taht much. Sometimes, it doesn't work 2 times in a row. I have to wait a little, or depressed the DSD-2 footswitch, to use it again.
I think it's supposer to get a clock signal, with rising and falling edges. It triggers on rising edges. |

Hi Basstyra While I don't have data on the DSD-2/3, I would assume that if it's digital logic, it would look for 5V as a high, some of the pedals I have repaired, have a 78L05 or 7805 5V regulator, to power the digital logic. And Boss do call them "Digital Samplers" |

Yep, it's probably 5v TTL or Cmos logic. I don't exactly remember when the 3v3 logic was born, but I also found frequently 5v regulators in digital pedals from this time.
I assumed it was protected, as it was an external input. Guess I was rigth, as my pedal didn't fry. |
