I've received to-day the BA634 I had ordered to littlediode_usa on e-bay I've just soldered it on the pcb, and now my DD2 is fully fonctionnal! I'm sorry Laurie, but you've seen here your first burnt BA634! |

Just in case, I had purchased 2 weeks ago on ebay a working Digitech digidelay which, just after receiving it, I plugged. Gess what? It was not working at all. No led, no sound, clean or delayed. I opened it to see that one diode, one cap and one resistor where completely burnt, even the pcb under the diode was burnt. I've changed these 3 items, and the led was working, but no sound at all. I then tested the audio path, which is handled by a TL074, SMD format package, very small. No sound was coming out of it. After 1 hour of work to remove the old one an solder a new one, with a magnifying glass because it is only less than 10mm long, I plugged it and once again, this pedal is working fine too! Two digital delays completely fixed to-day! I've purchased a 1,5A switching power adaptor, filtered and regulated. Do you think it is accurate to power effect pedals?

I've had that happen with a DD-3 and a Marshall Echo Head. Pain in the bum to fix, but satisfying when you get it done!
Here is the thread about my DD-3 opamp fix: http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6079 |

There are varying opinions about switching adapters. For the record, I do NOT like them.

Hi dom75011
Congratulations on the pedal repairs, especially the DD-2. And thanks for sharing your repair information with the members here.
What does the Digitech digidelay sound like, & which model is it?
Regards Dr. Bob |

Thanks guys The Digitech is an X-series digidelay, no way to check the exact model. They sound completely different, the DD-2 is more natural, softer. The digitech is more effective, has more presence, kind of "listen to the delay that I throw in your face", the tape echo is rather nice. They are complementary, 2 different uses. |
