This mod decouples the mid and high gyrators inside the HM-2 tone stack. You'll need an extra 10k potentiometer. The outer lugs of the potentiometer are connected to 13 and 14, the middle lug is connected to the (-) side of C28 or alternatively C29. Obviously, you'll need to lift the (-) leg of the capacitor.
The mod gives more flexibility to the tone as you can adjust mid and high frequencies independently. However, if you move the knobs symmetrically you still get the original HM-2 tone.
I will post some photos soon.
Here is the schematic for the mod:

Enjoy and measure carefully before you drill. |

Thats pretty cool, is there any resistance value that sounds best? Wouldn't it be easier to add a resistor than add a extra pot?

Well you can use a trim potentiometer and adjust it to the desired setting and then replace it with fixed resistors.
But its not the same flexibility as an external pot. |

I will try to post the pictures for this mod tonight, it's very simple, but involves some drilling.
My HM2 was with a friend until recently that he wanted to tried it and "conveniently" always forgot to return it. |
