| To my untrained eye, that looks like a heavily doctored Les Paul? |

I go with Mesjoggah on that one except it's from the 80's. I found it in a book, where it's titled "Kay LP synth", a cheap copy based on a LP studio with built in, battery powered effects.
From "The ultimate guitar book" by Tony Bacon, page 183. |

| ^^^ I actually know someone who owns one of those Electra's. He's got a few of the plug-in effect modules for it as well. Played it an hour or two once; it needed a setup and some strings but it was sorta neato. |

Hi Disco Stu
That sounds very interesting. What would the chances of getting some pictures, of that guitar & the plug in modules, next time you visit you friend?

Hi Dr. Bob --
Next time I talk to that fellow, I will ask him to snap some pics of the Electra and its modules. But, he is about 3000 miles away (~4500 kM) on the other side of the Continent.
It might take a while! |

Dr. Bob,
I will attempt to call his cousin and to track down his #. Have not spoken with the guy in 6-7 months.
Really, not especially interesting visually; LP copy with a cavity in the back for these modules that look like battery packs. At the time I saw his Electra, I checked ebane and there were a few items up for auction... maybe an Electra guitar or two and several modules.
so they aren't all that rare. I don't recall any separate controls for the effect module, so you are stuck with a "no-knob pedal"! I seem to remember it sounded cool in a teenage rager fashion. |
