Having just tweaked my BD-2 and it being late in the evening here I though I would have a little noodle in the dark, my desk lamp is a low energy one which being effectively a fluorescent tube tends to get into the Strat pickups. The nice bright orange light on my Tiny Terror helps.
So here's the idea...
Different coloured LEDs for the pedals so you can identify what's on more easily in the dark.
My OD-3 already has a bright light blue one from a mod done my someone else before I plucked up courage to start mangling them myself.
So for me it would be yellow for the OD-3, light blue for the CE-5, green for the TR-2, dark blue for the BD-2 if there is such a thing, maybe white for the DD-3 and perhaps just leave the CS-3 as it is
Are there any paricular types of LED to use?
Am I spending too much time with my Boss pedals? Help nurse....

Great idea AND you spend too much time with your pedals! Don't feel bad though, most of us here do (including me) |

| great idea the only problem is you can't see them in the dark. so when when turn it one and the new led lights up you area ready know you got the wrong pedal on, how about glow in the dark paint |

Good point. It would probably be more useful to know which pedal is which before you stomp on it... |

| Well I said it was a crazy idea but I wasn't really thinking of pitch darkness, more kind of dim stage lighting between songs, it might help to see at a glance what's on and what's not |

| Then you could use glow in the dark paint to identify the pedals too |

Assuming the pedal is powered by an adapter... how about adding an additional LED (drill another hole) that comes on when the pedal is powered up.
On your DS-1 you could have an orange LED on the right hand side of the pedal face that is always on to identify the pedal, an orange one in the usual place on the pedal for ON/OFF, and if you have the SEM a red one on the left of the face for the seeing eye.
