Dr. Bob's topic got me thinking. What is the oldest piece of gear you own? And/or what is the oldest piece of gear you use on a regular basis?
For me, the oldest piece of gear I own is either my Boss DF-2 or my Boss NF-1 (I forgot which was first on the serial number decoder).
The oldest piece of gear I use on a more regular basis, though just about once a week, or every other week, when I need to keep it down cause of my neighbors baby boy, is the Gorilla Tube Crunch combo from 1986 I got as my first amp. Its not great sounding, but it helps keep the cops away when I have an urge to plug in at 2am... |

I don't exactly know.
The oldest : maybe my Maestro PS-1A Phase Shifter, or my Jen Fuzz, both from the 60's.
The oldest I use : probably my CE-2. But I just got a broken Ampeg from 1977... |

Probably my amp -- an Ampeg GU-12, I think '69-'72 vintage or thereabouts. Also have a PS-1A that's probably right around the same age.

I think it's my Roland Jazzchorus amp. I don't know how old it is but the schematic fits the first version so it's perhaps mid 70s. It's in regular use will not be retired anytime soon. I've got an MXR distortion+ that I'm not sure how old it is. It has been used and abused so it might look older than it really is. |

my oldest piece of gear is my Shin-ei Companion Fuzz wah from the 70s. clean as a whistle. and ive never seen another one like it. this one has the fuzz and volume knobs on the front plate and the jacks on the sides. the only other ones ive seen are vice versa.
that and my my main amp. a Kustom Lead II from the mid 70s. though i have a feeling that the father in law is giving me his oringinal Twin Reverb for Xmas. and by that i mean i asked him and he said no. but it was one of those "possibly sarcastic" no's!!
oldest Boss pedal is probably my GE-6. |

Great Topic! Really interesting to hear about other vintage gear heads!
The oldest effects box I own is a very early Mk 1 Watkins Copicat Valve echo which dates back to the very early 60's and it sounds great. I actually have it as the first effect in my chain with the echo switched off most of the time as it does something pretty magical to the tone and is a great pre-amp - Love it!
My oldest Boss Pedal is probably my Touch Wah TW-1 with serial #7600. Out of interest, does anyone have a Boss pedal with the earliest serial number - 6400? |

| I have a Boss pedal with serial number 6400 and it is an SP-1! My oldest piece of gear is a 65 Fender Vibro Champ. I use the Vibro Champ fairly often and it still works great. |

Wow, that's a super, super rare SP-1 BigBossman! Possibly one of the first Boss compact effects ever made! Probably worth a fortune! |

Yes it cost me a fortune: 450 USD. It was worth it though. The SP-1 is probably the hardest to find compact Boss pedal, and to get one from the very first production run makes it one of the rarest of SP-1s. |

Thanks for the vote of confidence & the pat on the back.
I just thought, we all have this great Boss & other gear, but what about our Guitars & instuments, there seemed to be no-one talking about what we plug into all this great stuff...
I suppose this should be in the other topic. |

Oldest piece of equipment: 1948 Gibson L-4 archtop acoustic
Oldest amp: 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb(I gig regularly with a modded 1971 Princeton Reverb[for smaller gigs])
Oldest Boss equipment: probably one of my DM-2s, or possibly my CS-1(haven't checked under the hood on any of 'em). |

the oldest piece of gear i have is my selmer stadium amp followed by my fender coronado(see dr bob's thread on guitars) both are 60's vintage the amp is around 61 or 62 the guitar is a 67 after that its my 70's marshall superbass(non master volume) and my musicman hd 130 combo then the yamaha sg followed by the squiers and my strat late 80's....as you can see i'm not a snob about gear i love things that are well made and do the job they are supposed too..the squiers are great guitars especially if you put a bit of time and love into them... those jap guitars from the 80's were really well made..i think fender regetted giving fender japan the blueprints from the 50's...as far as i know they were putting a dent in fenders american sales....the selmer is a bit of a luxury item as its only 14 watts and not really loud enough to gig...but i was using it on rehearals up to a few months ago...when i retired it because i thought i had burnt out the output transformer not bad for an amp about 45 years old...!!!!i recently dated some of my boss pedals ..the oldest is my ds1 which is an 84 followed by my od2(no serial number but i bought it secondhand early 90's and it was well worn)and my ch1,dd3 and cs1 which are 1989.... |

EH-LPB1 that works not. First made in 1968!? It should be an easy fix someday though.

| For slide I sometimes use a Levin flattop from 1945, its not so good for regular playing but for slide it shines. |

Oldest is a (according to Gibson's website) a 1916 Mandolin that was given to me. But before you get too jelous it is in unplayable shape and needs a lot of work. Obviusly Im not heading to the bluegrass jams with that puppy. I also have a 67 Ephifone lap steel (also given to me).
But what I use on a regular basis is my semi recently purchased 1969 Fender Twin. When I got it, it still had the original tubes, speakers and 2 prong plug. I bought a custom flight case for it, brought it up to code and now its the sound I had in my head, now in my hands. The
