G'day Amputee and welcome!

This is the nighmare situation we (all the tech folks) dread... If you are 100% sure the DSP is fried, the only option is a new board from Roland.

Fortunately for us as a user group, this type of failure is extremely rare. This is the first one I've heard of in the last 2 years. Sucks that it was yours though.

So, with the extreme rareness of this type of failure, I hope you will forgive me for asking - how did you assess that is was the DSP? How sure are you?

Hi laurie .. I ran the internal test program . Points to dsp error also no o/p on the scope from the chip .. Add to that ( I have never had this before ) the chip gets hot as hell . The pedal is awesome but it comes down to economics , ebay 50 to 60 , new board 90 . You can get the chips from China but at what cost ..So it does look like the parts bin calls .. The case is great sumat will fit , so it won't go to waste . Didn't realy fancy a 78 pin solder ..

Fair enough. Pretty much a smoking gun then

If it was mine, it would also be the parts bin for the guts and the case for a project.

I've noticed a lot of their new stuff seems to be designed like that, like the higher spec delay and all the looping pedals......probably all the twin pedals too but not really examined those yet.....

Designed to be totally unserviceable and disposable.........

Hi Amputee
Welcome to the forum from Australia.

Any idea how the PW=10 was damaged in this manner?

Regards Dr. Bob
