+1..i use both ... well i use DD-3's and i use analogue delay and tube echo sims in the pod xt pro...i also like the crystal clear sound of digital delay for some stuff as well..not all analogue delays are good ..i tried a el cheapo analogue delay from the 80's a while back that was pretty crap.... |

| Sure, there are actually some songs and styles where digital is more appropriate. Just depends on the atmosphere you're looking to create for any given song. |

I fell in love with analogue delay because of the models in my Pod XT Live. I had a digital delay for years that never really got used. I don't really care if its true analogue or not, more what it does to the sound.
The next pedal on my list is a http://www.ehx.com/products/deluxe-memory-boy. The main draw for me of analogue delay is how the sound evolves, and being able to put other effects in the delay loop (but not at Moog 104z prices)....  |

| Skugga...i also think that the Line 6 sims are very good for what there are...if you set the tube echo on a 14ms type setting you get the natural chorus sound that a real tube echo produces...i also see the DL4 is used by a lot of big name players ... |

Does anyone not what the delay technology in the MXR Carbon Copy is?
Is it truly analogue (BBDs) or a digital chip pretending to be analogue???? EHX seem to do this calling stuff "analogue" on some of their 'verbs and delays but the guts are digital.

Lower voltage will not harm it, but the pedal might not have enough power to work |

thanks zerksies, i powered it with 9v, the effect did work well, but had no lights at all, maybe with an 18v much better sound would be heard from it |

Hi Jsoi, I wouldn't worry about low voltage a bit. After all the AD-80 operates on 2 nine volt batts. After about 5 hrs. You've only got about 13 volts, and the repeats start to sound blatty(some may like this!) and as you say the LED dims. Starved voltage is a fun trick to try on DC circuits as it won't harm anything. On AC you have to be careful of induction motors as they will overheat if the voltage is lower than spec. Much Mojo on that one! |

| I bit the bullet, and ordered a new Diamond Pedals Memory Lane. It's all analog with 2 Matsushita MN3005's, and has tap tempo. It's version 2 with 550ms of delay. Supposed to be here by Easter weekend, I can't wait!!! |
