Since 2002 All Bosspedals changed their dimensions of the metal case.

According to the instructionmanual the dimensions had not changed since 1978.

The original dimensions were:

70[H] x 12[D] x 55[D] mm

From 2002 new dimensions are: 73[H] x 129[D] x 59[H] mm

Not sure when in 2002 the change was, since I have a DD-5 from Jan. 2002 and a PH-3 from Feb. 2002 and they all still have the old measurements, nearest pedal I have to this is CH-1 from June 2002 and this one does have the new measurements, from there onwards all pedals do have the new measurements, even pedals which have been in prodution a long time such as DS-1 and SD-1.

The changes I mentioned are included in the manuals supplied with any new pedal.

When we look at the different pedals from the different periods we can see a lot more changes, but for some reason the manuals tell you that the measurements of the pedals are [and have been up till 2002] the same.

Some pedals which I do think look very different are:

TW-1 [silver screw version] this pedal has rounder edges, looks a little smaller overal.

OC-2 [ the Japanese Octaver one] this one looks slightly taller, there are DS-1's from the same period as well, which have similar look.

VB-2 and LM-2, these pedals look again a little bit smaller.

Overal it seems that there are different periods in the whole range of the Bosspedals, and certain periods do have similar cases for different pedals. I think you can notice this very well, but you may have to look a little longer. Overal this can help you when you see images on Ebay, it could give you that confidence that you are bidding on something you know is a little older or unusual than the common stuff we see around us most of the time.

Interesting, I'll see if I have any pedals made between Feb and June 2002 and see what measurements they've got.

I've noticed that some pedals are a very tight fit into my BCB-6 board. I've only noticed this on some old pedals, not seen it for the newer ones.

I measured some of my pedals last night, but I guess like trying to put pedals on a pedalboard is better feedback for measurements.

I am sure you have a lot of pedals from around '82 up to '85 [paperlabel, screw in the knob,ACA adaptor-socket], these are the ones I mentioned with the Jap. OC-2 and DS-1 as example, and they are probably the ones which would give you a tight fit on your pedalboard.
