What is the function of the Attack Knob?...I nearly cannot figure out what is the different in sound no matter it is set at min. or max. level....
Moreover, while playing clean sound with the CS-3 on, the volume of the sound is lower than the volume of that without the CS-3, and the harmonic of the string is cut by the CS-3....How can I fix it?..
sorry for my bad english ...

On the Boss CS-3 you can liken the attack knob to a mix knob, in that in its minimum postition; all of your original signal is compressed and therefore it sounds more extreme. In the maximum setting, only a small portion of the original signal is compressed so it sounds more subtle. Out of all of the Boss CS series compressors I believe the
CS-3 is the best for compensating for this drop, however it comes at a cost...noise. It can add a lot of gain. You can do three things. 1. Turn the attack to Max. 2. Turn up the level. 3. Turn up the sustain. 4. Use a guitar with weak pickups like single coils.

Roger
