Is the level from input to output essentially flat with this pedal, or will it / can it boost signal like a preamp?

As long as I'm asking: could anyone who owns one of these comment on how well it works?

I'm thinking potentially in terms of at the end of a long signal chain, such as a long cable or a series of several effects, and just before the amplifier...

The effect is most often described as being similar to "lifting a blanket off of your amp".

I've read (was it here on the bossarea?) that the best way to realize how much it improves your tone is to play with the pedal engaged for quite a while, then bypass it and hear the change.

As with most Boss pedals, you could always pick one up and if you don't think it's right for you, resell it online.

Stahlhart, the EH-2 can bring out more of the harmonics when you put it after a distortion. Put it, for instance, after a HM-2 and the HM-2 sounds richer. Depending on the setting you use on the EH-2 you could also make the HM-2 duller.

Yes you can use the EH-2 after a chain of quite a few pedals, and it will do a similar thing as what I mentioned before.

Overal the EH-2 can make sounds duller of brighter, even just a straight guitarsound without any effects!!!

In my rig, the EH2 is really great when used with clean sounds, but it's awful when using distortion. Anyhow, never put the "mix" knob all the way up !

Thanks very much to you all for the responses! I appreciate it...

They don't seem to go for all that much second hand, so i might just pick one up for the heck of it, and experiment.
