hi there! a new face here, who's using boss pedals for almost 16 years!
got a question:
i bought a secondhand boss NS2 on the web as i searched on the web on how this thing should work best i want to kill most of the background-noise the JVM is producing on OD1/2 orange/red channels
i came up with this:
guitar => nady wireless => NS2 input => NS2 send => dunlop cry baby => JVM input => JVM fx-loop send => NS2 return => NS2 out => boss DD3 => boss CE3 => JVM fx-loop return
i was watching an online manual of this pedal, but there are OD-pedals in the NS2's loop, not the amplifier's preamp... i figured this is the best way to hook it up
anybody tried this setting or something similar, maybe?
don't get me wrong, i love the JVM, it suits all my needs, but i want the damn thing to be silent, when i want it to be, while staying on a particulair channel |

Why don't you just put the NS-2 in the loop of the amp after the delay and chorus? That would save a lot of hassle with cords.
Oh, and welcome, I'm from Holland too. |

ah, dus de nederlandse invasie is begonnen?
well it depends... if i hook it up like you said, the only difference would be 2 short cords lesser than my idea. i still have 2 leads going from the JVM fx-loop to the stompboxes, along with the lead going from the crybaby to the JVM's input, and then the cord of the JVM footswitch... so either way it'll still be a plate full of spaghetti but i'll trie both way's and see what works best
one question though... if i put the NS2 behind the delay, wouldn't the actual delay effect be cut away? the manual say's it's best to leave the delay behind the NS2 |

ok, the NS2 came in yesterday, so i tried different things out...
with the NS2 in front of the amp, it couldn't cope with the noise coming from the preamp in OD1/2 orange/red modes, so that's off
in the JVM's fx-loop (before the delay and chorus) it was a bit better, but still not satisfying...
so then i tried the X connection: i'd have to say... this is it! this is what i wanted... it eliminated most of all preamp hiss, pickup squeeling and even ground hums!!! and when i want to, i can struck a chord on OD orange/red and get a singing feedback keeping the guitar going for ages, without the NS2 cutting it away!

i didn't set the treshold at max, but backed a little off, so the guitar/amp, is still outrageously violent, getting singing feedback when don't mute the strings, but as soon as i do, it is dead silent
so yes, this was a very good choice |

I've never seen the X connection before. Looks good. Thanks for sharing. |
