I have had, and loved, the Boss TU-12 tuner for fifteen years and I still have no idea what one of the functions does.
I use the CHROMATIC setting to tune my guitars, but just before that there is a setting called GUITAR. When I turn that on all the tuner does is light up the C note.
I have no idea where my manual is, so what exactly is the function of GUITAR setting?
Thanks. |

I have the same mode on my Tu-2, and I use the Chromatic, but the Guitar mode on mine basicly is:
Insdead of showing E,A,D,G,B,E String Letters it shows them as: 6,5,4,3,2,1 Like in guitar tab
Personally, I think it sucks, I like to have the sting note for alternative tunings. |

The guitar mode is actually very useful for beginning guitarists. Thought then they always ask which side is 6 and which side 1.
I use chromatic too, otherwise its impossible to tune to C standard or drop Bb. or drop C#. I also like using the chromatic mode when practicing string bends so you can get the exact bend you like 1/2 step or whole step. then after practicing for a while you'll get the right spot anyway. |
