I don't know what controls the TR-2 and don't really care... it's a great pedal and a keeper on my board....even better than the tremolo in two of my amps....

I just got the Voodoo Labs Tremolo.... it is Lamp controlled and really nice. No ticking noise and really smooth or hard and stuttering... it's a big step up from my old PN-2 - it feels and sounds better imo.
