I managed to buy a TW-1 today with type-1, version 1 knobs in great condition in its original box. But what really blew me away wasnt the great appearance of the pedal, but its sound. I had it hooked up together with a DS-1 mij, a GE-7 and a DD-3. The TW-1 is a tonemonster and I believe you can dial in lots of nice sounds with it, and on top of that it gives a nice overall touch to the sound no matter the amount of effect you dial in.
Truly a great pedal and Im happy to have found one. |

thanks for the review, Sunburst! a friend of mine recently added a MIJ CE-3 to his setup, now feeding two amps, and he described a similar bliss.
dunno if this has been covered before or not, but what's the difference (sonically) between the TW-1 and the AW-2/AW-3 series of pedals? I haven't heard much in the way of nice things about the AW-2/3, but I've never tried any of them either....
** forgot about the FT-2 vs. the TW-1... |

maniacally_cool, Its the T-wah model. I do however believe that its a very early pedal though considering it has version 1 knobs on it. The serial is 079800. Im guessing probably a late 70s och early 80s example.

Will be able to tell you very soon as I have a TW1 and an AW2, the AW2 arrived this moring and the FT2 should be there soon as well. Have not heard the AW3 but it is a new one and they will be around for some time
Give me a few days and I will let you know. Also have a Electro Harmonix BAss Balls, very different from the TW1, and not a Boss but still...............great.
