your on the right track...the beer of choice of leo wanker if i remember correctly.....

the Marshall is mid 70's.... it's the MKII model with the rocker switches and the metal front but before they started putting master volumes in them...from what i can find out the circuit is very similar to a '68 plexi with only one or two resistors in the difference... i actually like te superbass better than the superlead as the clean sound is fatter and not as trebley as some marshalls i have tried....you can see the tonebones with the EL84's where the 34's should be to lower the output down to about 30-40 watts....with a full compliment of EL34's and a 4x12 this thing seriously moves some air...i tried it a few times back in the day and could feel the leg of my trousers moving standing in front of the cab.......

Apologies for posting this on the forum.

Franzoni, please check your emails in (PM).
People have mentioned that they are not getting replies to emails that they have sent you, myself included.
Perhaps the cold weather has affected something on your ISP's POP Server?
PM me for details.

Strange thing happened with the marshall..it was crackling and popping a bit still so i tried the set of EL34's out of the musicman to see if it would make a difference... but it made the marshall sound very sick......tried the old trick of switching the preamp 12ax7's around and put the tonebones back in....amp sounded as sweet as ever and no more noise......i hate it whan things start working again for no apparent reason... as i like to find the probllem and fix it... so then i tried the musicman...still making the odd pop or crackle but working as well.....left that amp on for nearly five hours and kept going in and out playing with it for a few minutes to see ..a slight hum but worked fine with no dropouts....i'm starting to wonder did the old girls not like being left in the back of the van in the cold weather...

That could very well be your problem.
We did that once, and it wasn't even that cold (in november) but the next day our rhythm guitarist's JCM 800 2x12 combo just didn't work, nothing.
Luckily, he could borrow my brothers 2nd amp for that nights gig.
Anyway, he had the amp fixed but ever since there's this really strange crackling sound when switched on.
That particular amp has always been a little child with diseases, some previous owner did some unknown mods to it, there's holes in the chassis here and there and the reverb never worked.
Good news, he sold it and replaced it with an übercool Vintage Modern 2466C, like the one I showed you.

I just realized ive never posted my amps here.
Not anything special, but..

Randall 100 Watt Combo, Fender Frontman 15 watt, and a "Prince" 20 watt which is kinda usefull (and loud!) when i set them all up in stereo.

Also pictured is my beloved Squire Tele and my ever changing board and the rest of my pedals to date.

Messy, i know
Cheers!

Just picked this one up a few weeks ago:

2004 Victoria Trem d'la Trem; 14 watts(2 6V6s) into a 15" Eminence Legend speaker. The tremolo is to die for. No reverb, none needed. I use a couple of other Vics with 15s, but I gigged with this one for the first time over the weekend, and I can definitely see it becoming my "go-to" gig amp. Jumper the two channels together, set the volumes and the tone control(only one tone control)...set it and forget it, just the way I like it!

My amps are never in the same place at the same time for pictures, but here they are. I have Marshall 1960B's for each Peavey and for the ENGL I use a custom built 4x10 with Celestion G10-35L's for recording or a POS B52 4x12 that I leave in the basement.

Peavey 6505+ and a couple of 5150's. 1 has missing knobs, but works fine.

Engl Fireball 60

Fender G-DEC (FREE!)

And my peadlboard while I'm at it.

Second hand indeed!

Out here they are VERY VERY expensive either new or used. Amp sounds so good, that I now play sans pedals for the most part...

I finally got that exact pixies tone as well when I use this baby with a DD-7 and the gain cranked all the way up
