It was working fine and then it lost the display, the dislpay lights, and the lights in all the buttons. It still passes the signal through and the input meter lights up and registers but no efx.
Anyone have a clue?

My quadraverb had a level display failure and I searched for hours to find the problem. Ended up just ignoring it.

If you find a schematic in your travels, would you be kind enough to sling it this way?

You bet!! I spent about an hour looking on line but havent found anything as of yet. I still have a couple of tricks up my sleeve. Alesis has a pretty tight leash on there schematics but I'll get one!!

I saw stuff about something similar before except it was just the LCD display that went and no reports of loss of FX,the display failure seems to be a fairly common problem... ...i have seen the display replacements on ebay a while back when i was thinking about picking up a quadraverb that or one of the early midiverbs....

Hi TKO Ken

Do you mean it turned Gay?

Sorry Dude, I couldn't resist it....

Check the internal fuse,
& if it has one, does the power adapter work.

Just to go off topic for a mo..hols were great,France(we were in Brittany near the coast) is a beautiful place and the people are all fellow celts.... the wine was cheap and excellent and we were very lucky with the weather...all the Franzoni's had a ball...well recommended.......

....i posted about a problem i had with a analogue rack unit i use..it was powering up but humming and not working correctly..i found a burnt out bead capacitor inside causing the problem..an 90 cent part and a little bit of soldering and everything was up and running in about 30 mins.... it's worth taking the cover off and doing a visual to see or smell any burnt out parts or components..the cap in my one smelt bad and sizzled like a match so it was easy to spot and also easy to fix.... be careful poking around any filter caps in the power supply with the fingers in case you get a zap.... defo not recommended.........

Hi TKO Ken

Excellent, so did you manage to get anywhere with repairing it?
or are you still studying the manuals & schematics?

Keep us informed of your progress.

Hey Dr.Bob,

I work for an electrics manufacture here it Connecicut (USA) so there's a whole bunch of folks to work with on it. I buil, repair and troubleshoot touch data collection devices but that's about the extent of my electrical prowess. I never went to school for electronics but, I get the job done.

There's a particular display and system malfunction that sometimes paralyzes the Alesis Quadraverb, where the LCD displays random gibberish and all of the effects patches seem to all be corrupted. I've known some users to throw their QV away or seek an expensive fix once they encounter this problem. I'm not sure which specific glitches are being mentioned in this thread, but there's a ready fix for the one I'm referencing (even though the info is hard to find in the manual or even anywhere else) and all it entails is a simple system reset:

1. Press the Store button
2. Press the Up Page button This will give you the page to recall a single preset to any location
3. Press the Up Page button again and you will get the "Recall all 90 Alesis programs" page
4. Hit Store again to execute the command.

The QV's original display, patch and FX data are all restored to factory settings.
