Ever get the urge to buy something because you have a feeling this must sound good? Well, for a long time I've had that feelign about the TW-1 even though I have a great envelope filter already. I don't know if it's the color, the fact that they don't make it anymore or because I saw a great band in which the keyboard player used one to get his Nord pumping.
I play almost exclusively soul and funk. Does anyone here have one and if so, hows about uploading a demo to YouTube already and help a fellow "funkster"?

What have you got? And what do you like/dislike about it? The TW-1 has a fairly quacky auto-wah sound, not the syrupy, vowel-like envelope filtering of a mutron III/EHX Q-tron type pedal.
I had "that" feeling for a TW-1 awhile ago, mainly due to rave reviews on this site: I finally tracked one down (not especially cheap), but I have since replaced it with an FT-2, which I much prefer. I quite liked the sound of the TW-1, but it's not very versatile and I found it really quite fiddly to set the sensitivity to suit my picking dynamics so it triggered nicely. However, tons of people on here swear by them....

| I already have an EMMA DiscumBOBulator that sounds pretty cool, but it may be a little too heavy in the low end sometimes. From that YouTube clip I've seen it seems as if the TW-1 doesn't suffer from too much low end? |

The Wahzoo has a great sensitivity controlled auto-wah. Too bad it's ~$350.
The FT-2 is definitely much more versatile and useful, but the TW-1 has that coffee magic. |
