June 81 is nice and early for an SD-1..
WTG..
the same pedal, unmodded, would be VERY sweet, I think. |

Not to sure what particular mod it is? the previous owner said a friend of his mods his pedals? he seemed to think it based on the the Keeley mod?? I'll post some pics later and maybe somebody can tell??? Unfortunately the rubber plus label has come off of the base plate? but other than a few scrapes and chips she's sweet! Looks like this but with a JRC 4558D added?

Hi guitarMAD
Nice, good pictures as well. What camera are you using?
Looks it's a Symmetrical clipping mod.
If you click on edit, you will see the HTML code I added to your post, to display the pictures. Please make a copy of this code, and put it in your notepad for future use. You will only have to change the file-name part.

It looks like D6 is open which leaves D5 also open. This means that clipping of negative signal amplitudes has been disabled.
Judging from the rest of the mods this was not the original intent of the mod (conversion to TS808).
I would jumper D6 with a short wire. Otherwise what you have is a very asymmetric clipping arrangement, i.e. positive voltages above 0.6 V are clipped, while negative voltage pass through without clipping at all.

There might be a jumper on the track side? Can we have pics of the track side please? |

If that is the case, then there would be no need to cut D6.
A picture of the track side will definitely sort this out. |

| It looks that D5 is connected properly via a short. The guy who applied isn't very professional for sure. Very messy work, considering this is a rare pedal. |
