Hi DrGain
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
Can we respectfully request, that when you leave posts on the forum, that you don't use all UPPER CASE.
It's considered, to be either SHOUTING, or that you are ANGRY.
Plus it make the post difficult to read.
Are you experimenting with the Flip-Flop circuit in your BD-2 or pedals?
It's technically a (Edited (Thanks ssanyee it was 3am when I posted) Bistable multivibrator (sorry Bob, monostable a bit different), that has two outputs, that change state from High to Low (0 to1) and visa versa, the next time you press the foot switch/pedal.
In digital terms this is known as a D-Type Flip-Flop, with outputs generally marked as Q and BarQ (a minus sign above the Q) which indicates that it's current state, is opposite of the Q output.
Hence the outputs flip & flop between the two opposite states.
You can all wake up now, master class is over & the bell is about to ring.
We now have quite a few Dr.'s on the forum. almost enough to have a Dr.'s convention...
Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Drgain,
Welcome to the forum! The name of this circuit is Bistable multivibrator (sorry Bob, monostable a bit different).
To the slave of input jack BOSS uses the negative wire coming from the 9V battery as it is visible here:

The meaning of this idea is that the battery is totally disconnected from the circuit when you plug out your mono type input jack from the pedal and no any current consumption when you are not using your effect)!
cheers |

Hi Ssanyee & guys
Ssanyee thanks for spotting my error.
It was 3am when I replied to the post, & I was trying to attend to 3 different things at once, unfortunately none of them were "getting enough sleep"
I even missed the send part of DrGain's Question.
Regards Dr. Bob |

Thanks everyone for the wealth of information!!!, its been a long time since i've looked at some of these circuits, I graduated in 1994 from E.R.A.U. in avionics.
Just repairing a boss pedal for the first time for a friend of mine after he damaged it during a mod kit. Took a few hours but repair is done.
Thanks you all very much!!
