Version differences There are 2 versions of the CE-5 where the second version is denoted CE-5A. This is printed on the PCB so it is easy to figure out which version you have. The first version is closely related to the CE-2 and CE-3. It uses the 1024 stage Panasonic BBD MN3007 and its associated clock driver 3101. The CE-5A is completely restructured. It uses surface mounted components and the BBD has been replaced with a digital design. All CE-5s made before October 2001 should have the old circuit. Use the serial number decoder on the 'Other Products' menu to find out when your CE-5 was made.
I want an analoge one too, i sold my digital one a few months ago and started looking for a analoge one, nowhere to be found ofcourse and sold mine way too cheap..
they are better to my ears, useing it with distortion i was noticing a lot of background noise with the digital, now with the anolog i dont notice it at all even when the pedals eq is cranked.
