This ties into my DD-7 thread:

I want to wire up a busted Cry Baby shell as an expression pedal. Can anybody tell me how it's wired? Is it just a voltage divider wired to a stereo 1/4" jack? If so, what's the pinout?

In their manual, Boss (ever helpful) tell you not to do this, and don't give the diagram needed to get it right.

I have used a crybaby shell and pot to make a expression pedal for an AW-3 using the EV-5 schematic above. One interesting feature I discovered was if you disconnect the ring connection with a footswitch the pedal reverts to envelope control mode.
The stock 100k pot from a crybaby bunches up the sweep toward one end of the pot. this is ok for wah but you may not want that results with a DD-7. Of course you can taper the stock crybaby pot with fixed resistors in parallel with the pot.
