I searched, but couldn't find if this had been posted already, apologies if it has. Boss true bypass with no drilling of the case:

The blog version doesn't have the schematic... I've been registered over there for a while and it's pretty painless

On a wider topic, a) is it worth doing? and b) if so, hypothetically, would it be sacrilage to do it to a minty SP-1/VB-1/SG-1, even if you had no intention of selling the pedal?

If I am not mistaken it looks like he did drill a hole inside the case to mount the board. Probably not something you would do to a collectable pedal, but i am guilty of worse

Yes - the hole is through the little "post" in the casting that the spring sits on. pretty invisible if you use a 3mm bolt. But I probably wouldn't do that - I'd probably make a metal bracket that snaps into the hole the momentary switch sits in.
