| Yeah, a good job at duping some poor soul. There's no way 1 cap will make your GCB-95 sound like Hendrix/SRV, escpecially without the inductor being changed out. |

I wonder if they also have the optional "updated/increased guitar playing skill" mod to go with that?

Hi Duggum12 & Guys
From what I have seen, the only difference between the standard Crybaby, & the ones that Hendrix used, was a single Cap change. I think his Tech re-voiced the swept T-Filter with a .015uf cap. It gives the Crybaby a slightly more vowel like sound.
This is probably the Cap?/Mod that they are selling. But I may be wrong, as they don't elaborate too much on what you get.
I will recheck my data, when I get some time.
Regards Dr. Bob

Ahh, but that's what the folks at Dunlop would have us to believe!
Nice catch Dr. Bob! Allow me to divulge...
The difference between the JH-1 wah that Dunlop sells right now and a standard GCB-95 is indeed one capacitor. I think the PCB looks slightly different to "throw us off the trail" to make us think it's the exact Hendrix copy. In fact the differnce in the Bass version of the Crybaby is (drumroll please) one capacitor! Stinkfoot deservers all the credit on this one, but I've also been lucky enough to see the guts of a JH-1, GCB-95 and GCB-95b.
Now does anyone here think that if you lower one cap in your standard GCB-95 you will have Hendrix's wah tone? No? It's the same thing.
Last but not least: Hendrix played a VOX. |
