Am hoping that someone here will be able to help me here. I managed to pickup a MIJ OD-2 not so long ago. When I brought it home, I immediately checked the Boss Serial Decoder to see when it was made (S/N: 582400). I looked at the OD-2 write-up and realised the picture featured an OD-2 with yellow knows. Only than did I realise that my OD-2 had grey knobs. Am just wondering if I got "cheated" since I paid the market price for an OD-2? Or are there really OD-2 with grey knobs? I know that I'm being alittle annal here but just want to know. Grey or yellow knobs doesn't mean the OD-2 doesn't sound any better/worst I was wondering to myself that grey knobs should be from a CS-3. Anyone can explain?? Cheers!
Sounds to me like someone has switched the knobs from another pedal like the CS-3, CH-1 or BF-2. It isn't uncommon to see pedals on Ebay with unoriginal knobs but there's nothing consistent about OD-2s with gray knobs. They should all be yellow.
Hey digsy...you can tell all the curious fellow muso's at the gig that it's a super rare od2 with special tone enhancing grey knobs.....by the way i used a mit one for many years and it's still in my gigbag in case anything should go horribly wrong on a gig...(the overdrive i use now has valves inside)...if my jap ds1 is anything to go by your on a winner there....congrats and enjoy......
