To get a better understanding about when the transformation took place it would be interesting to know some serialnumbers on both the Octaver and the Octave for comparison...so people please post your paper sticker serials.
The serial on my Octaver starts with 2XXXXX, so it is presumably from the first year of manufacture. |

the SN on my Octaver also starts with a 2, like yours....
I wonder if there were also any changes made in the circuit when the name changed? |

S/N of my Octaver also starts with a 2.
Has anyone of you seen that the middle of the metal case [look at the place where the hole is for the black screw of the bat. compartment] is "broken up" by two lines? I have a DS-1 from which its serial number also starts with a 2, with a similar cosmetic make-up.
Both pedals have metal screws in the control knobs, and both labels read: Boss AC adaptor, unscrew using your fingers.
I'd like to believe that these were the first pedals which came after the pedals which had their serial numbers stamped in the metal case.
The cases of both pedals are a little taller that the other versions of these pedals, overal weight and looks are very similar.

Well, from Vim Fuego we have documented "Octaver" pedals up until about 1984 so far then.
Lets hear it from people with some early "Octave" pedals aswell. So please continue to report in. |
