Hi Cicatriz ESP & verivorax
Very nice collection of amps. I always like the Boogie Subway (Rocket & Blues) amps.
And I/we don't see many Traynor amps out here in Oz.
Regards Dr. Bob |

Hi Dr.Bob - thanks - I can understand why so few made it there - they're heavy mothers to lug around!! I suppose there are small amp shops everywhere - getting rarer and rarer (or get famous and pricey).
The Garnet people (Gillies family) recently did a run of hand-wired Herzog preamps (what Bachman used on American Woman) again.. Traynor also just released a hand-wired YGM3 reiussue (including as many components from original suppliers, like Hammond and Jensen) which is VERY sweet (~18w) and smokes many Fender USA reissues -imo.
now playing: Henry Rollins - Ghost Rider "don't forget to burn!" |

The Orange Micro Crush is acceptable.. decent cleans but the distortion mode muddies up in the high-end rather quickly as was expected with such a small amplifier. I think its 1W if I'm not mistaken. I haven't tried it with the 9V batt yet.. I've got people to do & things to see.
The tuner probably gets within 5 cents if I were to guess but it tracks quickly & accurately enough, especially useful for switching between alternate tunings. But you'll find yourself of course topping your tuning off by beats as usual.
The tone & volume controls are surprisingly responsive. I'd like to mod some clipping out of the distortion mode. It sure gets bright! It beats the hell out of tiny Fenders, Marshalls, et al. When UPS dropped it off, I thought I had ordered a book as it came in such a package due to its 2" depth.

Tks guys! Modern metal isn't really my style but I couldn't pass up the monster Boogie. It has great clean but still is no Fender & I particularly like the voicing channels. I love it anyway Actually, I don't play it as much as my Orange & feel guilty about it. But my bedroom shrinks with every call to Sweetwater (what an evil vice) & I'm still learning my chops. I plan on growing into the Roadster & kickin' it more often as time passes.
Laurie: How long have you had your Roadster? That's cool you have a white one. Do you also have a cab for it? Mesa sure makes some nice custom covered units.
After about another year of guitar lessons, I'll take piano lessons so I can actually "play" something. Now, I just fiddle around with all the knobs running simple scales & chords on the Phatty. |

Hey DeFrag,
Nice MOOG gear!!!!
I've been gasin for a bass Murf ever since I first heard one.
Here is my @ home practice amp although lately I use my computer for home practice. Rat Fur Ashdown Perfect 10 30W bass amp.

and my Rehearsal/Live Rig. Yamaha PB-1 through Ampeg SVP-1500 poweramp through Avatar B410 NEO in tolex:

The pedal board has come a long way. I used to have a BBE 362 and an Ampeg SVT-IIp (as you can see by the holes in the rack they are no longer there). Just down to one hole at the moment. Not sure what to put in there.
EDIT: definitely looking to replace the Gemini power conditioner too. |
