Hello --

Has any one here messed around with the GP-20 pedal? It's an amp modeler I gather. Some fellow locally has one for $60 USD. Curious if anybody has any experience with this device.

Thanks

$60 seems an excellent price for a twin with so many sounds.
I'd snag that bad boy.

Thanks DeFrag --

Have you played with one? It does seem like a nice pedal, But I have no idea if it sounds any good or if it's just a waste of time.

No but I'd love to get my hands on one.
I think production ended in 2005.
What kind of shape is it in?

I recorded a whole album with it!

No real amps... just the GP20 and some other Boss pedals straight into a Boss BR1180.

This was my pedal board...
For some tracks I put the GP20 before the HF2 and CE5.

And, if you want to hear the album...

I have one in excellent condition with box and manual that I can sell for $60 plus shipping.

It is an amp emulator that takes the place of your amp. If you were playing with an actual amp, you would put the amp after the chorus and flanger because you do not have a choice. With the GP-20 you can put it after effects if you want to emulate the typical chain with a real amp.

The GP20 has no effects loop.
It's just a basic mono-in, mono-out

Most times I'd have the GP20 before the HF2 and CE5.
The volume pedal usually after the GP20.

However, some tracks sounded better with the CE5 and HF2 pre-GP20.

I do have preference for effects order, but it's not fixed.

I once recorded some stuff with a Mesa/Boogie combo using the direct-output straight to the mixer rather than mic it up.
Rather than put the CE5 and DD5 in the effects loop, I wanted the stereo sound of the effects, so I put the CE5 and DD5 between the direct-output & the mixer.
It just sounded better.
