Picked one up at Guitar Center today. Looks like it was made in October of last year. No volume drop, and it sounds terrific! I've owned more expensive trem pedals (Fulltone Supa Trem, Demeter Tremulator) and quite honestly, I prefer the Boss.
I was also pleasantly surprised to see that it's not built with surface-mount-tech - it still looks old school in there.
I'm glad you lot turned me on to this one! |

ive been wanting a TR-2 for the longest time now. when im shopping for pedals that are still in production i usually like to find them for dirt cheap and i cant seem to find a TR-2 for under $50. that and the OD-3 :( i guess thats a sign that its a good pedal though |

| I just got back from my local shop here and they have a TR-2 for 50 dollars. Used obviously, looks like a new version (made in the past couple of years). Good deal? |

| TR-2 is absolutely a must have pedal. Usually you can get a Ring Modulator to give tremolo effects too which kills 2 birds with 1 stone. |

| do you just use it to add to leads or what. I've never really experimented much with these kinda effects ie phasers, tremolo, etc. |

| People says that this pedal is hot BUT that we must cut a kind of C4 if I´m right. Am I right? Did anyone mode that pedal? |

| The mod is unnecessary with the latest version. |

i have mine a couple of years now and never had to mod it so it must of been around then...... i think there was another thread a while back about this and someone pinpointed the time the circuit changed slightly....boss must of been listening to the feedback about the volume drop.... ..... but i agree it's a great pedal one that i couldn't see coming off my board anytime soon...even clapton has been seen using one..... |

| I think it was Andreas... Someone brought it up. Seems to have happened when they changed to lead-free solder. Mine's from October 2007, and it has the change. |

My TR-2 from May 97, actually gets a bit louder. I bought it used but there is no sign of any mods being done. It does have a little white noise thing going on, but it might just be normal, my NS-2 shuts it up. |

I picked one up used for $50. It was kind of dirty, but cleaned up quite nicely. It does have the slight volume drop (which I didn't think would be a big deal but is really starting to annoy me). Perhaps the Keeley mod or using it in a loop with a little boost with an LS-2?
I absolutely love tremolo, but I can't seem to master using it. I seem to either have it too subtle to be noticed or too "in your face" to be appealing? How is this effect best used? On leads? For rhythm? Only clean or with some hair? I generally play rhythm guitar in a casual setting with friends. Can anyone recommend some good starting points for getting the most out of this pedal. It's an awesome effect I just can't seem to master.
Thanks! |

Hi Tele_Man & guys
whether you like them or not, listen to CCR Credence Clearwater Revival
Those guys had it down pat. Listen to "Born on the Boyou" as an example. And a band called Radio Kings - Live at BB Kings - track "Love In The Light" In fact the whole "Radio Kings" album is superb.
If you PM me, we'll work something out, if you don't have the tracks.
Regards Dr. Bob |
