Does anyone know or have the aligment procedure for the MXR M-117 Flanger trim pots. This is the original AC version (not the re-issue)

Thanks,

Steve

Hi SJB,
Welcome to the forum from wonderful Omaha, Nebraska (Cornhole of the Midwest!!!)
I semi-recently obtained one of these as well. The info would indeed be welcome & helpful. I'm guessing a scope will be helpful in this procedure.

I'm looking at the schematic here:
http://www.schematicheaven.com/effects/mxr_flanger.pdf

I've never seen inside one of these, but clearly from the schematic the trimpots are to set the operating point of the SAD1024. I'd defer to someone who's had their hands on one...

Well based on what I know about the Boss BF-2, one of the trims must be a BBD bias adjustment. One looks like a clock trim. Not sure about the 3'rd. It would be nice to know the factory procedure.

Hi SJB

Welcome to the forum from Australia.

First of all, have you tried to email MXR/dunlop on this topic.
They have been pretty good to me when I have requested help once before.

Not sure if you have the SAD1024 datasheet & application notes.
Look here for the SAD1-024 & heaps of other good data:
http://www.synthdiy.com/pages/datasheets.asp -- app. notes here.

Other places:
http://www.datasheetarchive.com/SAD1024-datasheet.html
http://groups.google.im/group/sci.electronics.components/browse_thread/thread/cb67c843e64432da

No promises, but I'll print off the app. notes, & the hand drawn sch., & I'll have a bit of a look.

Has someone fiddled with the trim pots, or is it the never ending quest for knowledge & understanding?

Some internal pics would be nice, if you have a camera.

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Everyone,

I think I found what I need with these two links.
(I may contact Dunlop to get the official procedure if still available)
