I was wondering if there was any resource for old Boss guitar effects guidebooks/pocket dictionaries. I have the volume 4 pocket dictionary and a couple of the newer ones, Are things like the settings they suggest valuable to anyone?

Valuable in a reference sense. idk the dollar value.
People are always looking for new combinations and settings with pedals, especially with the older pedals.

Too bad BOSS didn't have an online reference library for past guidebooks

Hi Christo & Guys
Perhaps, we could take up some sort of petition - or just request-suggest, that Boss (US-Japan-UK) put these old references on line, for prosperities sake.

Who knows it will probably sell more or their pedals to new enthusiasts, and old one like us, who are looking to add new sounds-effects to our beloved & aging collection of pedals.

Hey Christo, is their enough room at the front of the Behringer pedals, to fit a chassis mount 2.1mm DC socket-with switch, I was specifically thinking about the round ones that fit into a round mounting hole.
maybe that's the simple Tech-moder solution to moving the DC input socket from the side to the front.

The side mounted DC socket is the most complained about item on the Behginger pedals, next to the Spring loaded battery cover-hatch.

You would think that Behringer, might have payed some attention to these complaints, in their newer generation of pedals.
I guess it has to do with the tooling-die's for the cases, and how most or the cases are similar.

I'll take a few of my Behginger's apart to see if it can be done. maybe the shafts of the pots, get in the way....

Christo, if you end up rehousing the pedal, take some pics so we can all see your progress.

Regards Dr. Bob

I see what you mean, there are subtle differences between what my guidebook says and what the boss area archives say due to different editions of the pocket dictionary. Would anyone want some early pedal settings? I'd be happy to post them whenever I've got half an hour to spare, it's not bother really. Of course, if anyone wants to buy it i'd be happy to ebay :p put it towards my next purchase...

In other news, I found out a couple of hours ago, i'm an uncle to a bouncing baby girl, someone to impart some vital guitar knowledge to finally!

Also, I second that petition.

I'm planning to scan and publish all the dictionaries on the site but I want to rewrite the descriptions that contains quotes first.

I've mentioned earlier that I asked Roland permission to publish them and got a resolute "No" reply. I have since then spoken to other Roland employees who has told me that they couldn't see any problem with publishing them. I have therefore decided to go ahead and publish them but will remove them if Roland requests it.
