Hi all - I picked up my mysecond ME-5 the other day - it all works fine except the chrous/flange section is barely audible - very barely - but is definitely there I can just hear the effects of changing the rate etc. I have done a factory reset.
I am hoping its something simple like a bias trim pot but I cannot find a schematic for the me-5 I have checked all the usual sites.
Well I have run through all the diagnostics but I do not seem to have +6 / -6 V feeding into the flanger/circuit from IC4 - pin 2 is reading +1.4V in all chorus (1) flanger modes (2-5)
However this I imagine is simply a switch signal so perhaps does not explain the fact that the flanger is faintly audible when switched on - say, 5% of what I think would be its full value. I suppose a problem in the depth control area would explain that - I will take a look at that part of the diagnostics again. Not sure what I am looking for exactly though.
And unfortunately that is the extent of my electronics skills reached - but I have big ears for listening!
me-5 working but chorus/flange dead?
