It wasn't so much that I'm worried about jacks failing. It's just that I've seen jacks get loose on amps and won't hold the plug in place so even a slight tug will pull it out. One of my bass amps has that problem to some degree because I used to leave it plugged in too much. I guess it's not as big of an issue with pedals especially if you use them on a board.
