They keep presenting themselves.
Every time I think to myself, OK, I have a plethora of pedals, more tonal palette than I can use, something shows up on a forum that seems like a great deal and I find a reason to buy it.
Today, it's a mint-in-box CS-2.
*sigh*
I suppose I'll get it. |

Tell me about it.
But why do "rare" pedals show up every damn day? |

Why can I always find a reason (...excuse) for really needing that next pedal?
I probably need help but I don't care any more - I'll never stop.... Is there a 'Pedals Anonymous' thing out there for addicts or am I already here???

I think this only seems to happen now that the internet dominates the world. 15 or more years ago, someone may have had a Spectrum or Slow Gear for sale, but if no one locally wanted it, it was hard to sell it to a national, let alone worldwide, market place without the net. Also, the net has educated people, so even though it still supposedly happens, it will be vary rare these days to stumble across a DM-2 or 50's Telecaster without the seller knowing of its rareness value/hype. |

I think that's very true.

Oh man, do I know all about this, too...yesterday I picked up that Catalinbread SPP, last Saturday it was the PW-2, last Friday was the Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus and also Micro Vibe...
... now I'm seeing an HF-2, Sparkle Drive and a Phase 90...oh, and maybe a Super Fuzz too...
HALP!! |

A Fulltone '69 is on the way to me...what next...I'm hoping for a DC-2. Pedals make me happy
Jack's got it right about the Internet - not only does it make price and availability visible but the whole buying and delivery process is so easy and getting safer & more reliable all the time |

Hi alex_law[
Seriously.. When you're sick of it & want to do another pedal flip, Put me down as first on your list.
I need Good, working, CS-2 as a reference pedal...

my personal strategy is this. when i have no money to spend, i dont even look at my computer..
it seems when i get ahead i just take a little browse on the forums/ebay... then i wake up the next day at 1PM with a hangover and 4 pedals in the mail |
