| I have a chance at a decent deal for a decent Touch Wah. Its got the usual chips and more. Mostly just the edges. I was wondering do you guys find much use in them or are they really just a collectors item. would a crybaby be a better investment in terms of versatility? |

I would say its 2 different things..
I like my TW-1's AND my Crybaby..
But a decent deal on a TW-1 - I say go for it

Apples and oranges.
Depends on your playing ability and application.
I love the TW-1. If you know how to use one, they're very musical. |

How does it compare to the FT-2? Admittedly its more flexible, but does it have the same punch? I'd also like to get a TW-1 this year |

I got a TW-1 a while back and was quite disappointed. My biggest problem was that I found it very hard to dial in a suitable sensitivity level: It seems to go from no-effect-at-all to super-quack within a very small travel of the knob. Also, when I eventually set it up to sound nice and responsive with single-note solo parts, it wasn't responsive enough when playing chords. I sold it, replacing it with the FT-2 and I couldn't be happier: The sensitivity issue just isn't a problem with this unit, it easily handles chords and single notes without changing settings. Plus, the Q and frequency controls and the expression pedal jack allow you to get a whole range of tones that aren't possible with the T-Wah. Oh, and the "down" mode actually seems to do something, not the case with the T-wah. |

i agree that it depends what youre looking for. for a cocked wah situation i think the FT-2 is better than the TW-1, but for snappy dynamic wah stuff i much prefer the TW-1.
TW-1s and wah pedals arent exactly the same. with wah you have the ability to wah it when you want, but the T-Wah will "wah" every time you pick a note. it depends what youre looking to do. like Vim, i like to have a wah AND a TW-1.
btw, fatso forgetso like the song by Kyuss? |

Thanks for the advice, guess I'll dig my FT-2 out, blow the dust off (need to buy chocolate for boxes) and play it a bit. That thing is fun From what your describing of the TW-1, and being snappy sounding, reminds me of the CS-1 being snappy compared to the CS-2. Might grab a TW-1 myself one day. |

I just got it today. It sounds good for what you guys said, individual notes. I think i'm gonna get a crybaby for chords and my dynamics in the effect itself but I can see the usefulness for the TW. Plus its a nice collectors item, hell its older than me.
and yes like the kyuss song. My favorite band of all time! |

while we're on the subject, i use my AW-2 for a stationary wah sound but it has it's limitations and can get a bit trebly with even minute adjustments of the manual knob. how do people find the FT-2 for this kind of sound?
