Did a bit of internet searching today and found the Artec site http://www.artecsound.com/effect/index.html , great site with some great soundsamples. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of the 'crazy metal' so I did a bit more searching and found a new one on ebay for 39 euros free shipping Anyone heard of this brand ? any thoughts on the site ?
Just watched the workshop video and I love what he's doing with the analog delay can anyone tell me if it comes close to a boss DM-2/3 ? I know the artec is a bit cheaper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2zBl65_iVc |

Got my Crazy metal today definitely a keeper, comes very close to the sound I get from my keeley modded MT-2. Sturdy metal housing, looks very solid. Dialed in all the low and it is still tight, the high sounds like high and not like a bee nest Think I trie a few more of this brand. |

Hi sp-1, Laurie, Franzoni & guys
I sometimes see one or two, here on evilBay Oz. But there doesn't seem to be any at the moment.
I have been wondering about these pedals, they look very well made. And SP-1's Crazy metal seems to confirm this.
The Wah is identical to the Washburn wah, that Kmart here in Oz sell. I guess Artec just re-badge them for Washburn
SP-1, I would be very keen to see some internal pictures of your Crazy Metal pedal. You could post them to the pedal internals thread in the Tech & mods area. I know the other guys would be pretty keen to see the insides as well.
I will ask my friend Justin if I can take some internal pics of his wah.
I really liked the sound demo of their compressor, especially on the milder settings.
Regards Dr. Bob

I've seen these around, and have wondered about their quality - from what I understand Artec are a pretty big Korean manufacturer. I guess with so much OEM production switching to China they must have decided to make their own line of pedals.
The one I want most is a bit of a Swiss Army knife pedal - it's a 7 band EQ which also works as a chromatic tuner, with the press of a button. |

Took some pics, but it seems I can't take any nice closeup pics. I put 'm here 'cause there's no use to put 'm in the 'internal pictures' topic. If the 'moderator' find 'm interesting enough, feel free to move 'm

Hi sp-1
Thanks for posting the internal pics of your Artec Crazy Metal. Interesting design, & all (SMD) surface mount components.
Did you happen to see it it's also RoHS compliant & lead free solder? The case looks like it's Die-cast.

I have no idea what RoHS means, but on the box it sais 'no Pb' so it's lead free. |

If I recall an article I read correctly, everything sold in Europe has to be RoHS compliant by now?
(RoHS = "Restriction of Hazardous Substances")
Anyway... it looks very well made, electronics similar to Behringer pedals, but mechanically NOT |

Yeah, looks like thats how they keep the costs low, but I am wondering what ICs those might be as those might be where the real personality and characteristics of the pedals sound may be... |
