I heard they were giving these away @ the MEAC trade show this year, and also heard that there were none left (in Canada, anyway).
I also heard there are no more of these:

But I managed to get one!! Apparently they're used (maybe in smaller shops) to promote a single pedal on display in exchange for a bulk discount on that item.
Big trick is.. this thing is metal, and it'll eventually scratch/mar some clean pedal. Anyone have any thoughts other than my usual trick of laying some fabric down? Some kind of rubbery spray?? |

Another little score.. what I thought was a bumper sticker was actually a nice vinyl(?) letter-transfer.

but for some reason the forum is showing the pic rotated 90 degrees - it's fine on my end!

I haven't tried rolling down the gate window yet.. I figure it'll last the winter, at least! (if it's MIJ, maybe longer?). The poor pic doesn't show how nice a VB-2 blue the logo is. |

You know I had one in the package just like Dr. Bob posted. And it's funny I was just thinking about this item a few days ago. Because about maybe 7 years ago, I was cleaning out a bunch of stuff and donated a bundle of things at the local thrift shop, and one of the things I donated was that exact item, still in the packaging. Looking at it in this thread, I can totally remember it, and I was wondering why anyone would put such an item on the back of their jeans, wouldn't it hurt sitting down on it?
I actually had been given two of these Boss items back in the 80's by my friend who owns his own guitar shop in Japan. I attached the first one he gave me onto my strat soft case and the other one never made it out of it's package.
I still have the one attached to my guitar bag though. Here's a shot of it I took today after reading this post....

It was difficult to see in the picture.
Very nice Strat by the way.
I have always liked the look of natural-wood grain.
I'll bet she plays really well too.

Thanks Dr. Bob, she played good in the late 80's but I've not played her since then though.
The one pictured on my soft case is much different then the one you have. The one I have on my soft case says across the top: "The Boss says "Thanks to the World".
And across the bottom it says: "In commemoration of 3,000,000". There are no years on it though. My friend gave it to me in early 87' so it couldn't be any newer then 87'. I took a close up shot of it tonight and edited my post so you can see it up close. Sorry for the bad color quality of that close up shot, the flash of the camera really makes it turn out bad.

Well, I have not seen these posted anywhere in this thread, or on the main page... so here we go. I'm pretty sure I got this in 1996 or 1997, it's a dogtag for the 10 million pedals sold, on the front it talks about the 10 Million Sold,
and on the back it has a serial number...
That's all the swag I have, unfortunately, besides a Pocket Dictionary (Version 10 "Guitar Effects Guide Book"). About the only other cool thing I have is a DRP-1 Dr. Pad. And my ME-X and my DC-3 too, of course, lol. |
