I'm waiting for a Dynacord Echocord, which then would sure be my oldest peace of gear. Something like during the 60's...
Tape AND tube echo, 40 years old, what could be more mojo than this ???
I'll have to repair it first, but then, I'm sure this one will not go in my back room where I keep my collection. It will go on my practice amp, allways plugged. It's gonna be sooooooooo good... |

Old peice of equipment is my '65 Hagstrom II, followed by my '80 Hagstrom Swede. Oldest pedal would have to be my MIJ BF-2 from 81-83 |

My oldest is a chrome Morley PWB power wah boost from the 70s.
The oldest I use a Boss RDD-10 microrack delay from '85. And I just got an 8-string bass that I guess is somewhere between 25 and 30 years old. |

| I just sold my '68 Fender Twin Reverb. Next in age would be my '77 Gibson RD Standard. I am looking at a '60s Ampeg of some kind. |

| two of my guitars have a significant percentage parts that date back to the late 1950s, but the oldest all-original items are an amp (with newer tubes, of course) and a few Boss pedals made in 1980.... |

The chassis and transformers in my amp - it started out as a Bogen CHB20A PA amp circa ~1973. I completely rewired it about two years ago into a stripped-down 18 Watter clone and rehoused it in beautiful faux-Univox 2-tone blue. So it started old, but is really new, but made to look old. Understand?
My oldest Boss pedal is probably my BF-2. It's MIJ, but I haven't check the serial number yet. |

My oldest item just entered service - a 1962 Ibanez 981 guitar. I've been refinishing the neck and have only just completed the build. It's a lovely little guitar that sounds great.
There's a pic of it here, along with my current favourite non-Boss effect: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/redxxvi/boss/981.jpg |

My oldest piece of gear would be my Cobb Strobotuner from the late forties, early fifties (by best estimate; apparently the company's records were all destroyed in a fire in the 60's, making it hard/impossible to date by serial#).
Non-guitar gear would be a Hohner EchoHarp harmonica from the early to mid 30's. I guess that one doesn't count. |

Hi jak84 I would really like to see some pics of your Cobb Strobotuner. I saw one for about 2 mins once about 15 years ago.

I've only seen strobotuners on the internet, but one of my favourite videos was 'Let There Be Rock' by ACDC, and I recall a part of the film where Angus is tuning up backstage using a strobe tuner, maybe a Cobb?
Edit>> I saw one on Ebay but it's a Conn (the manufacturer's name, not the price ). Maybe Conn & Cobb are branches of the same company? |
