i use my FBM-1 on it's Bright channel, for a clean tone. Never do i use it for over-drive/boosting... i just use it strictly for EQ.
It's 2nd closest to my amp, in front of the FRV-1. is that where i should put it?
ALSO... how do you use your FBM-1 in your pedal-board set-up, where to put it and for what reasons?
thank you much!

I also use the FBM-1 on the bright channel. My settings are: Presence-3:00, Middle-12:00, Treble-3:00, Bass-3:00, Level-11:00 to 1:00, Gain-12:00 for clean or 3:00-5:00 for overdrive. I place the pedal before all modulation and delay for no particular reason other than it is with my other dirt pedals. It seems to do OK this way, but I haven't tried moving it around too much. This pedal has a sound that the BD-2 and Ibanez TS-9 (which I also use) cannot provide. I love the way it sounds and use it at least 50% of the time. My amp is a Roland JC-120 and it seems to be made for this pedal.

Mine is set up guitar -> FBM-1 -> BD-2 -> FRV-1.

I use the regular channel, no presence, Mid-12:00, Treble-12:00, Bass-2:00, gain-12:00, going into a JC-55 (and I agree it sounds good with the JC, I can only imagine how nice a JC-120 must sound compared to my JC-55).

I tried placing the BD-2 ahead of the FBM-1, but I found I lost a lot of the FBM's tone that way - I much prefered using the BD-2 to add dirt to the FBM-1 tone, rather than the other way around. I also have a HM-2 and a Big Muff after the BD-2, but I only use the FBM in conjunction with one of the three distortion/OD pedals at a time, either the BD-2, the HM-2, or the Muff.

My FBM is on almost all the time, unless I need a completely clean sound.

Hi ovrdrv123 & Guys

Not too go too far off topic.
I have sort been avoiding getting any of the Vintage Boss series.

My question is, how much better than the Fender simms in the GT-8
is the FMB-1 or the FDR-1?

I heard the Vib in the FDR-1 is quite good.

Regards Dr. Bob

I've never used the GT-8, but the FBM-1 is an improvement over the "Tweed" setting on my Roland Cube 60. I've not ever used a real '59 Bassman, so I can't speak to how good the emulation really is. I do know that I like the pedal as much (sometimes more) than my other pedals. I am also thinking about possibly replacing my RV-5 with the FRV-1, but I'm not a big reverb guy so it is low priority.

The Vibrato (in fact misnamed tremolo) is freakin' awesome! It's also very handy that you can control it w/ tap tempo.
