Hi guys,

Just got the DR-880 and, like all Roland stuff, big-time, steep learning curve. I've gone through the DVD but I can't figure out a few things. Let's say I've found the perfect pattern for a song, but I don't want the percussion (congas, whatever) that they've put in there. How do I get it out? Next question. I've found a good pattern and I like the first measure but not the second. Can I clone the first in a 4 bar pattern (or 3 or whatever) and save it?

Thanks,
Chris

You have to go into step editing and scroll through the various banks until you land on the percussion instrument you want to delete. It can be quite tedious until you get familiar with the process. I can go into more detail if needed.

If I have a preset pattern and don't like the second measure, for example, I would copy the pattern onto a user pattern first. Then I would go to song info and change the pattern from a two measure to a one measure. That will automatically drop the second measure.

If I want to expand the pattern beyond one measure, I go back to song info and enter the number of measures I want. These would be blank and you can put in what you like from there.
