I sold a BF-3 on eBay then I heard from the buyer it wasn't working properly. Gave hima refund got it back and he was right it isn't working properly. When I give it power if flanges for a second then make a pop noise every second or so. The LED doesn't light up and the switch doesn't do anything. Is it fixable?

UPDATE: I messed around with it a bit pulled it apart and now I've discovered its behaviour is consistant. It flanges then gets enough power and goes pop pop pop then stays bypassed. Using a semi flat battery it doesn't go pop pop (at least for the few mintues I played it) and works fine so I'm thinking once it gets the right amount of current or voltage it shits itself. What component could cause this. Its SMD so its pretty hard to figure it out. I also tried finding D1 cos I was told on another forum this had to do with the power supply on alot of boss pedals but couldn't find it?
