There has just been one became avalable at the same store i got my PH-1 from for £45, is that the one Joe Satrinai uses as i have always loved his octaver sounds. I did think about getting a OC-3, but if there is a good OC-2 avalable i may get that.
What opinions does everyone ahve of them, how good are they???
Thanks Again. |

| It like it. It's a good no nonsene octave pedal. I actually had both the OC-2 and OC-3 for a while and decided to hold onto the OC-2. The additional modes on the OC-3 were cool but I really didn't need 'em and stuck with the OC-2. |

i agree with marqueemoon about the no nonsense part of it. i find simpler more appealing. its a really good pedal and i like to place it near the start of my chain.
although i rarely use it...not because i like/dislike it but because i dont know WHERE to use it |

That's the thing. Atleast for me, an octave pedal really will never be on everything you play. I got them both used (and virtualy mint) for dirt cheap so I wasn't gonna be out much either way. They're both good at what they do, just see which one you find cheaper first. The other one will still be all over the place and easy to find if you ever change your mind. |

I was looking at the oc-2 recently but in the end bought the new electro harmonix Octave Multiplexer on ebay, and it's just fantastic. Really rich sounds, much more tonal shaping with the high and low filters and a sub octave switch for different frequency instruments (but which sounds good either way with my guitar at least ). Not that I'm in the habit of recommending other companies pedals of course, but I really hope to get a lot of use out of it. |

I've always really wanted one of the big box Octave Multiplexers for some reason...but i really don't need two octavers...but.. |

Joe uses the Fulltone Ultimate Octave... Let's see, do I have a pic?
OK, you can just see it on the top right of my board:

Recently, he's also been using the Electro-Harmonics Polyphonic Octave Generator. |

Oh, skip that previous pic - the one from the pedalboards thread has a much clearer picture of the Ultimate Octave:

May as well go for it, for £45 what am i loosing, its boxed and in good condition. I did have a look on the title page and there is MIJ and MIT versions, whats the diffrence between the MIJ and MIT ones???
Team it up with my PH-1 and my DS-2 and maybes get a compressor and another TU-2 and then i would have what would be a 5 pedal rig of doom for some origional material i would want to come up with. |

Agree, but when you play one note only after each other, for accords there is no success... That is the analog world |

Even the "polyphonic" mode on the OC-3 leaves much to be desired. IMO chords an octave down don't sound all that great anyway. It does however track single note runs better in "ploy" mode, but for a true polyphonic octave pedal you have look elsewhere (see POG). |
