Analog is a definite improvement to my ears. That don't necessarily mean that you'd like it better, although by this comment quoted from you I think you would.
Another option is getting a DD-3 that's been modded to sound more analog. I have one of Robert Keeley's modded DD-3s...it's a nice substitute, has a nice warmth to it...but I can still a difference between it and one of my old DM-2s; the DD-3 still lacks a little bit of that extra warmth that is so vital to an analog delay's tone.
The best thing I can recommend(although it's a costly recommendation) is to spring the bucks and buy an old DM-2. To my ears nothing else will work. A DM-3 is an excellent alternative as well. Another satisfactory option is the RE-20 which is also more versatile. You can't go wrong with any of these. |

Hmmm I'll keep my eyes open, presumably there are various DM-2 vs DM-3 comparison threads on here somewhere

I was quite happy with my Biyang analouge delay, but my OCD required the DM-2 as it fitted on my board better. It does also sound awesome. The Biyang wasn't expensive. The one I bought was in the big silver enclosure. Their new range appears to be in MXR size boxes. I haven't saw one in real life to compare, but from the pictures. I considered getting one of these, but after hearing so much good things about the DM-2, and checking youtube vids, I stumped up the bucks for that.

It does sound really good...but it'sabout as reliable as a herion addict...i've always gassed for T.C.'s gear after I seen a local band using their stuff years ago...so when they started making stuff again I was stoked...turns out they have major reliability issues...just read a few reviews from diff. sources...on the Nova Delay the problem seems to be it either locking up indefinitely or lossing half of it's volume...I was bummed but I stayed away...

it's an old Maxon Analog Delay 18V (made on the late 70s i guess)
issues:
paint totally changed to white 
battery cover on the back was lost
need your comments and advice on this one  |

this pedal is perfectly working, only the cosmetics have issues |

| I love the warmth of the analog, but there's something about the crystal clear digital repeats I find nice to use. That's why I'm GASing for the Nova Delay, yes it's digital but It does some good analogue simulating. |
