I've been trying to figure out what the woman in the background is thinking. |

What the hell is that thing? If I'm looking at it right it's only got four strings so a bass guitar?
Why are the frets the way they are? The first two are really wide and the third is not. Then the fourth and fifth are really wide and after that it's pretty random. Maybe a frettless bass and those lines are only for decoration?
And what a strange headstock. |

No way, she's thinking:
"Oh my god, that's Bono in disguise, I recognize his glasses" |

"I wish I had those kind of pedals on my bike."
"No way!!! he has the same pedal board as me."
"I wish he let me sew the rip, in the back of his pants"
"A 52 Fendara Dulcimer .... sweet"
And the worst of the lot: "I wonder if he's wearing underwear?"

Looks like there's a Roland GK2A midi pickup on that thing too.
Amazing - I'd like to hear that. Was he in the UK? |

I won't claim to be a dulcimer expert but I've never seen one like that before. It's like Rob Halford joined a hillbilly band. |

His name is Lindsay Buckland. Taken from the link on the above mentioned wikipedia page: "Australian musician and busker Lindsay Buckland plays almost exclusively an electric dulcimer suspending it from his neck like a guitar. Filtering the instrument through MIDI circuitry, he makes it produce the sound of saxes and other instruments."
