I've been wondering if there is any data (beyond bossarea's magnificent production totals table) regarding the number of pedals within a given batch number. How many OD-1 #8700 were made? Is it different than the number of CS-1 #8700 made?

Also.. what is the serialization on pre-compact products like the CE-1, etc. Did those numbers force the first compact serials to #6400?

All this while I think about a late non-stamped PH-1 arriving (hopefully) today.

The 4 digit serial numbers are really just month numbers instead of batch numbers. Every month the number was increased so the production month 8600 might be half or double as much as 8700.

The earlier units like the CE-1 had 6 digit serial numbers. Most likely the 2 first digits are a month number and when they came up with the 4 digit system they just continued from the month number they were in. This is of course just guessing but it doesn't make much sense to randomly start a new numbering system at 6400.
