I got a ps-5 on order and I'm planning my new pedalboard.
I've red many players suggest it after distortion couse harmonizer works bad. I even red octaves usually go first on a chain. This pedal got much different effects, users where do they place it?

id suggest flipping the positions of the flange and chorus and putting the harmonizer between them.

Some good tips can be found in the Boss Guitar effects guidebook vol. 19 which can be downloaded here;
http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/3884_GuitarEffects_US_2001-23e167c6636fb5e227bac3b274e571f3.pdf
The guidebook has envelope filters, pitch shifters and octavers before the compressor. This is how my board is setup and it works great.

Booklet suggest after distortion, so I think this is the best place for PS-5.
I found it really interesting, can do many usefull things.

I own & use 2 PS-5s, along with other octaving devices as well (OC-3 & EH POG). I prefer my pitch devices near the start of the chain. BUT, Your ear and perception are what you should judge with. Pay attention to the overall sound & how accurately the notes track. Mix it up & try again. Have fun, and best of luck.
