hey guys its my first post on boss area and i have a question. if i have a DD-7 and PH-3, is there a tap tempo switch that connects to both of the pedal's tempo outs so that i can tap on one thing while sending that tempo to both pedals? all help is appreciated i just don't want to buy two FS-5Us if i can help it. thank you

Welcome to the forum from Ireland... i'm not too familiar with the FS-5U do you just connect it to the DD-7/PH-3 with a short patch/guitar lead...?.. if so why not just use a 'Y' splitter cable to feed both pedals off the footswitch so you can set the tempos.. |

I posted a similar question about a year ago. A 'Y' might work but doesn't it have to be TRS? I just wonder if sharing a common conductor would work between both pedals. I guess noone has actually tried it since I first asked. I wouldn't think any harm could be done.. so go try it out & report back to us so we'll all know!

G'day and welcome!
It seems unlikely to me that a Y splitter will work. I don't know with absolute certainty, but connecting the sensing electronics in each pedal to the other pedal (which a Y cable would do) might damage the electronics.
In short, the waffly response - it might work, it might not work and not damage anything, or it might not work and damage the pedals.
What you need is a DPST (non latching) switch in a box with two separate output jacks, one from each side of the switch. Should be really simple to make.......

An FS-6 would do it, but not in the way you want..

I would just get two FS-5Us. They are fairly cheap. They interlock together so you might be able to tap both at the same time with one foot.
