I was just wondering which version of the HM-2 people prefer? I have the MIT version (September 1988) which i love but I've heard the MIJ is actaully better, and have considered buying one if there is a big difference. Just want opinions really.

in my personal experience, MIJ is always better for distortion. however things like noise suppressors, delay and EQ, MIT is the way to go.

less noise in the newer MIT's GE7s.. and when i had my two NS-2s (one MIT one MIJ) the MIT was perfect every time, but the MIJ would let a sqeal out every now and then. Not a big deal, but enough for me to prefer MIT.

Yep, agree.
Vintage and any kind of EQ is just a bad idea.
Or a good idea if you love hissssss.
