Thanks a lot DrakeSequation I can hardly wait for mine to arrive I also like instrumental surf a lot, and love the sound of a clean Fender with lots of reverb.

Thanks for that, I am going to have to try one of these when they appear around here. I like the appearance of this series a lot. I am unlikely to buy either of the other two though as I haven't yet heard a COSM device that I like, I like my valve amps too much.

Guitarist.... it's a U.K. based magazine but we get it in ireland and (i think) europewide distribution.....i like it better than the U.S. stuff as it's less heavy metal/speed freak based articles/gear...... |

FRV-1 arrives a day late I might add. FedEx said it was on the truck for delivery yesterday even though the estimated day was today (Fri). So they held on to it until today... 'cause they could. That blows.
Anyway, I just love the smell of new electronics & always take in a deep whiff 1st out of the box. MMMmm...
I can't say I like the new manual format with all the worlds languages like a fold out poster instead of the normal flip booklet. |

As with all the Boss reverb pedals I've tried, I need to keep the Tone knob below 12:00. Not to say this pedal is harsh at all. Generally I like the other knobs at or below 12:00 as well.
I haven't given it a proper spin with my good amps yet, but through my Orange Micro Crush I can tell I'm going to like it when I do. Bit buggered for time tonight.
I should have more to say this weekend if I get to re-routing my gear & run it through the Blackheart, Rebel, & Tiny Terror. |

I really dig some metal here and there, but I too get really tired of every mag being about metal. |

hey,
if you're looking for the bassman pedal - I do have it (formerly belonged to DeFrag) and would like to trade or sell it. It's good as new with some velcro on the bottom (comes with box and everything)
write me a pm if you're interested
cheers, mully |

Received the frv-1 today. May I just say; "wow!"
I heard the demos online and it sounded good, but I was still wary. When I plugged the thing in though, I was blown away by the quality of the sound. On reasonable settings ("reasonable" meaning settings that emulate a real spring reverb) it's practically indistinguishable from the spring box I used to use (a BOSS RX-100). If you dial the dwell and the mix all the way up you can hear some minor little crunchy artifacts, but man, dial it back down and it's just unbelievable.
The only thing it doesn't do is make that great spring reverb CRASH when you bump it. ;)
I also dig the "Tolex-like" case/finish. I hadn't actually seen one of the Legend pedals up close. Are they all like that? Pretty cool.
I will stop gushing now. But I think this will be "always on" in my little chain. It's that good. |
